This ranking was established by TasteAtlasAwards. 95 cuisines from 95 countries were nominated. Haiti was ranked 57th for the specificity of its dishes. The “pâté kòdé”, rice and vegetable, rice and djondjon, broth, griot, giraumon soup (joumou soup), tassot were among the dishes mentioned.
Italian cuisine came in first place while Norway ranked 95th in this ranking.
This is rather encouraging news for Haitian cuisine, which continues to make its way on the world gastronomy scene. Just one year ago, the giraumon soup, the traditional joumou soup of Haitian cuisine, was included in the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
